20 October 2010 Companies of the Customs Union Will Have No Discounts on Railway Cargo Transportation from 2015

From the beginning of 2015, carriers based in the Customs Union will have no discounts on railway transportation of cargo. The coming changes were announced by Igor Levitin, head of Department of Transportation of the Russian Federation, at the board meeting.

 
12 October 2010 Railway Exchange

According to intergovernmental agreements between Russia and Kazakhstan, associated with regulation of companies that specialize in international railway cargo transportation, the 2 countries will "exchange" 600 km of railways.

In the near future, Russia will provide Kazakhstan access to Privolzhsky railway section (from Molodost junction to state border), which includes Janybek station and state border that make part of Urbakh - Upper Baskunchak railway.

Kazakhstan, in its turn, will provide Russia access to the railway section from state border to Ozinki station.

 
06 October 2010 Kazakh and Chinese Railways Plan on Long-term Cooperation

The Ministry of Transportation of China and the Ministry of Transportation of Kazakhstan reviewed the 8-month performance of the border railway crossing located near Dostyk-Alashankou station. The review was held at the regular meeting of railway commissions in Shykment.

The commissions also had to agree on the volume of cargo, which is to be transported via railway in 2011.

 
29 September 2010 Customs Union to Introduce a Unified Conformance Mark for Russian, Kazakh and Belarusian Markets

The development of a unified conformance mark, certificate and test form has been the major issue discussed at one of the latest meetings of the Customs Union Committee. National organizations in charge of technical regulation have already begun to compile a list of uniform regulations for the members of the Customs Union.

 
21 September 2010 Mutual Control Is a Problem

Presence of Russian customs officials on the territory of Kazakhstan has not been authorized yet, which leads to certain problems in mutual customs control that has been agreed in documents signed by Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus. This announcement was made by head of Russian customs, Andrey Belyaninov. He also mentioned that mutual customs control in Belarus is already in place; this fact can be easily verified by visiting Belarus.

 
18 September 2010 Majilis Ratified the Convention on Temporary Import

The members of Majilis ratified the bill "Ratification of Convention on temporary import" on the meeting of Parliament of Kazakhstan, which was held on September 15, 2010. It was stated in the decision of Majilis Committee on Safety and International Affairs, that this Convention was signed on June 26, 1999 in Istanbul.

 
09 September 2010 The Importance of the New China-Kazakhstan-Russia Route

According to Minister of Transportation of the Russian Federation, Mr. Igor Levitin, who highlighted the prospects of the new route from Europe to Western Chine at the VI Baikal Economic Forum, the route, which connects China, Russia and Kazakhstan, aims to improve the availability of Chinese goods in the Baltic region. International transportation of cargo is the top priority when it comes to cooperation between these countries.

 
03 September 2010 Transportation of Cargo in Kazakhstan

Customs clearance procedures on the border of Russia and Kazakhstan have been significantly simplified on July 1st, 2010.

The Customs Code of the Customs Union, which regulates transportation of cargo in Russia and Kazakhstan, is the document that simplifies the process of customs clearance in these 2 countries. It should be noted, that this document makes no provision for customs clearance of goods imported to Kazakhstan from the Russian Federation.

 
29 August 2010 China-Kazakhstan Relations in Rail Cargo Transportation Peak in the Past 2 Decades

Mass media and the press service of Kazakhstan Railway announced that on August 12, 2010 delegations from China and Kazakhstan arrived at Dostyk station to acknowledge the link-up of Chinese and Kazakh railways.
