The package of this document consists of 5 pages.

The international railway bill and its duplicates are shipping documents used in international railway cargo transportation. This waybill is a documentary execution of the transport agreement between the consignor and the railway administration. The form of this waybill developed by the International Convention Goods Transportation Convention (since 1984 the Convention for International Goods Transportation) as well as the Agreement on International Goods Transportation (SMGS) has now been applied broadly in international trade. The main content of this waybill includes the name of the departure/destination station and border stations, the name of the cargo, haulage fee and the declared value o the cargo.

The text of a railway bill is printed on standard forms, usually in two languages (the Russian language and the language of the country filled in the SMGS waybill). This waybill is issued by the consignor or its forwarding agent to the name of the consignee. Then the waybill is certified by the freight-forwarder by affixing its stamp on the original and the duplicate. The duplicate is left with the consignor. The waybill accompanies the cargo. Each waybill is attached with shipping documentation that includes the shipping specification, quality certificates, the packing list etc.

The duplicate of the waybill is included into the package of documents required for receiving payments under a letter of credit, or under a collecting document.
